and the beat goes on...

Someone stole John's wallet and scattered its contents in the marsh. Granted, they kept the cash & credit cards.

Rude.

But somehow the annoyance, hassle, and monetary loss don't seem so great when we realize it's really not that important. The things that really matter are things that noone can steal away. Our love for each other. Our growing little family. Our faith and hope. That's reassuring and makes my heart fuzzy.

So maybe this was just one of life's little priority checks. C'est la vie.

Realizations of Motherhood

I'm now officially 14 weeks into motherhood. Which I feel qualifies me to enter into a little introspection. So in the spirit of Letterman (bless his naughty soul), here are my top 10 Realizations of Motherhood.

#10: You really do think your baby is the cutest kid you've ever seen.

#9: I married the right man. Not that I ever doubted this, but it's just even more solidified.

#8: Nothing is more beautiful than the sound of your baby laughing. Or the sight of him smiling.

#7: Spit-up really isn't as gross when it's your own baby. This is an answer to prayer.

#6: That thing about no sleep? It's true. Really, really true.

#5: When you are running on no sleep, you do weird things, like naming a blog Bling Bling.

#4: Sacrifices don't really feel like sacrifices when it's for someone you love so deeply.

#3: Whether for joy, exhaustion, or frustration, daily tears are just part of being a newborn's mom.

#2: The baby talk is unavoidable. You can try to resist, but it never lasts long.

And the #1 Realization of Motherhood....God's handiwork is just so breathtaking. What an honor to know that He formed and created Dean and has entrusted us to raise him.

I feel like the luckiest woman alive. :)
